George M. Cohan (1878–1942), U.S. songwriter, performer. "Yankee Doodle Dandy" (song), Little Johnny Jones (show, 1904).

Cohan claimed his own birthday was July 4, though skeptics have suggested his birthday was actually July 3. Oliver Stone's movie Born on the Fourth of July (1989) depicted the life of Ron Kovic, himself born on July 4th.
