Michael Wilson (1914–1978), U.S. screenwriter, Carl Foreman (1914–1984), and David Lean. The Canadian soldier Joyce (Geoffrey Horne) and the American sailor Shears (William Holden), The Bridge on the River Kwai, after Joyce mistakenly assaults Shears in a combat exercise (1957).

Wilson and Foreman were originally uncredited because they were blacklisted; novelist Pierre Boulle received their Oscar.
