Emily Dickinson (1830–1886), U.S. poet. repr. in The Complete Poems, no. 258, Harvard variorum edition (1955). There's a Certain Slant of Light, st. 1 (written c. 1861, published 1890).

The word "heft" was altered to "weight" in the first edition of Dickinson's verse, edited in 1890 by Thomas Wentworth Higginson and Mabel Loomis Todd.
