Redgrave was the daughter of the British actors Sir Michael Redgrave (1908-1985) and Rachel Kempson (b. 1910) and the sister of actors Vanessa (b. 1937) and Corin (b. 1939) Redgrave. Here she was describing an upbringing that left her with low self-esteem and a weight problem. She eventually became a successful actor and advocate of dieting.
