I regard the state of which I am a citizen as a public utility, like the organization that supplies me with water, gas, and electr...icity. I feel that it is my civic duty to pay my taxes as well as my other bills, and that it is my moral duty to make an honest declaration of my income to the income tax authorities. Because the goal of America is freedom, abused and scorned tho' we may be, our destiny is tied up with America's destiny.LESSATTRIBUTION DETAIL »
Slavery is founded in the selfishness of man's nature--opposition to it, is [in?] his love of justice.... Repeal the Missouri comp...romise--repeal all compromises--repeal the declaration of independence--repeal all past history, you still can not repeal human nature. It still will be the abundance of man's heart, that slavery extension is wrong; and out of the abundance of his heart, his mouth will continue to speak.LESSATTRIBUTION DETAIL »
